Eyelid Surgery Bangkok: FAQ for International Patients
Updated: 4 days ago

This eyelid surgery Bangkok guide is for patients travelling from abroad. At Saonanon Clinic, every patient is examined in person before any recommendation is made, and we ask international patients to stay in Thailand at least 7 days (ideally 14) so sutures can be removed and healing checked safely.

Eyelid surgery Bangkok: who can be treated at Saonanon Clinic?
We see patients who live in Th
ailand, and visitors who can stay long enough for safe aftercare. Eyelid surgery is precise work, and good results depend not only on the operation but also on follow-up after it.
Why is an in-person consultation necessary?
Several eyelid conditions look alike in photos but are treated very differently. For example, blepharoptosis (a drooping upper eyelid caused by a weak or stretched levator muscle, the muscle that lifts the eyelid) needs a different operation from dermatochalasis (excess upper eyelid skin). The surgeon measures eyelid height, muscle function, skin and fat, and checks the tear film before advising you. For this reason we do not offer online or video consultations.
How long should I stay after surgery?
Minimum 7 days: sutures are usually removed about one week after surgery.
Recommended 14 days: allows early swelling to settle and healing to be reviewed before a long flight.
Follow-up visits: we review healing at 1 month and 6 months after surgery. Please plan how you will attend these, or discuss alternatives with us before booking.
Recovery varies between individuals. Most bruising and swelling improves within 1–2 weeks, while the final result usually takes several months to mature.
Can I send photos before my visit?
Yes. You can send photos via WhatsApp or by email. Photos help us prepare for your visit, but they cannot replace an examination or be used for diagnosis. Any photos you share are treated as confidential medical information and used only to prepare for your consultation.
How much does it cost, and how can I pay?
The surgical fee depends on the examination findings and the procedure required, so it is confirmed after your consultation. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
How do I book?
Consultation only: book online.
Consultation and surgery during the same trip: contact our clinic manager on WhatsApp, who will help plan your appointments.
Related: ptosis correction and revision double eyelid surgery.
When should I see a doctor urgently?
If you notice sudden loss of vision, severe or increasing pain, heavy bleeding, or signs of infection after any eyelid surgery, seek emergency medical care immediately.
Frequently asked questions
